Short Film Pitch
Name of film: Luna
Short film pitch: Missing girl Luna leads her cousin to her dead body in a dream.
Opening shot: Slow zoom out from medium close up shot/ close up shot of radio at the far end of the breakfast table in the morning. Radio is on news station saying something along the lines of: "And the ongoing search for Luna Williams is proving no more successful. The 17 year old school girl went missing 4 days ago on the 6th of May, where her parents reported her missing when she didn't come home from school that day. Police have still found no evidence on her disappearance, and urge anyone who knows any information or saw her at all that day to report it to their nearest police station. Police tell us Luna is (quick description to be done when Luna is cast) and may be wearing school uniform of - " and the Mum turns radio off around this point and says off screen "I don't want to hear any more of this / that's enough" or something along those lines. Main character Jess is slightly visible eating her breakfast at the table as zoom becomes further away from the radio. End of shot. Shot should last around 10/15s.
The thing I think that will be hardest to achieve with my film is the luck with the weather. I want to be able to get 2 shots of the moon on a night where it is relatively big (nearly full or even full) and when it's visible. I need 2 shots of it on 2 different locations, so I will either need to do it on the same night or wait a month to get the second shot so the moon is the same. This could be difficult as it depends if it's a cloudy night on the day of filming and I need to plan and find out what days the moon is biggest. I also think doing the radio news report may be quite hard, first to make it sound believable and secondly to get the sound right and to seem like it's coming from the radio.
